There are two very large and spectacular exhibitions taking shape for this summer.  The first to open is in Elkhart County, Indiana.  Nearly 60 life-scale sculptures by Seward Johnson will nestle into the beautiful Amish Country landscape. The Heritage Trail driving tour takes you along 90 miles, through 6 cities and towns, past the glorious Quilt Gardens, made in traditional quilt patterns – all with flowers.  During this 10th anniversary year, these Quilt Gardens will also have Johnson bronzes sited along the route.  The monumental chosen by the hosts is “God Bless America” – Seward Johnson’s homage to painter Grant Wood. The 25-foot tall farmers and pitchfork will tower over the pastoral landscape, greeting all who take this special driving tour.  The sculptures arrive May 30th and stay through September 2017.

On the east coast we have a grand and elegant exhibition going up at Long Island’s Old Westbury Gardens.  From the magnificent Charles II-style mansion, The Westbury House, to the polo fields, gazebo, allee, and manicured grounds, the setting looks to be from a Merchant Ivory movie production. Two hundred acres of beautifully landscaped property is a perfect setting for some of Johnson’s Impressionist-inspired Beyond the Frame sculptures such as “If It Were Time,” “On Poppied Hill” and “The Hunting Party.”  There will also be 18 additional sculptures placed along meandering pathways, the famous rose garden and in leafy glens.  This exhibition opens to the public Father’s Day weekend, June 16th and runs through mid-September 2017.

Our exhibit in Plant City provides an excellent setting in Florida for sculpture fans.  Coinciding with the opening of the annual Florida Strawberry Festival, see 10 lifescale bronze works by Seward Johnson in Plant City’s 4th annual show!  This exhibition is on view until June 1, 2017.
